About Steinway & Sons

Founded in 1853 by Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg in New York City, Steinway & Sons has defined concert piano performance for over 170 years. More than 90% of concert halls worldwide provide a Steinway D for performances. Steinway pianos are produced from two factories, Hamburg and New York.

Grand · 5'1"

Model S

The Model S is Steinway's smallest grand — designed for apartments, condominiums and smaller living spaces. At Roger's Piano, we currently have Steinway S from both Hamburg and New York. Come and experience the differences between the two productions.

Model M

The Steinway Model M is the ideal balance between meaningful size and practical footprint for a living room. At 5'7", it produces enough bass to satisfy serious players while fitting comfortably in most homes.

Model O

The Steinway Model O is Steinway's mid-range offering between the Model M and the Model A. With longer string lengths and bigger soundboard, the Model O offers more depth than the Model M or the Model S. Pre-WWII Model O pianos are particularly prized by collectors.

Model A

The Model A is a popular piano. At 6'2", it offers more bass depth than the Model O or Model L, while fitting in spaces that cannot accommodate the B. This is a versatile piano that suits both standard living rooms and smaller concert venues.

Model B

The Steinway Model B is the most sought after grand piano that Steinway makes. At 6'10", it produces a full and rich bass, a singing tenor, and a brilliant treble that larger rooms can properly accommodate. It is the instrument of choice for serious home performers and many professional pianists.

Model C

The Model C is exceedingly rare. It is larger than the B but more manageable than the Model D. At 7'5", it suits large home music rooms, university recital halls, and professional studios.

Concert Grand · 8'11¾"

Model D

The Steinway D is the concert grand — the instrument that graces Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein, and virtually every major stage in the world. This piano is appropriate for institutions, performance venues, serious pianists and large homes.

Uprights

Over the years Steinway has built different models of upright pianos. However, today, they only offer one new model, the K52, made in Hamburg, Germany in ebony finish.
