About Bösendorfer

Founded in Vienna in 1828, Bösendorfer is the world's oldest active piano manufacturer. Now owned by Yamaha, Bösendorfer instruments are still built entirely in Vienna with Austrian spruce soundboards and a sound that is uniquely warm, orchestral, and resonant. Famous for models with extended bass range (97 keys on the Imperial).

The Case for Pre-Owned
  • 1

Pre-Yamaha acquisition models (pre-2007) are prized by collectors for their pure Viennese character

  • 2

Bösendorfer's tonal character — warm, complex, orchestral — is unmatched by any other maker

  • 3

Extended bass models offer unique musical possibilities not available on any other instrument

  • 4

Austrian craftsmanship and premium materials ensure decades of reliable performance
